Run Windows, Linux and a lot more Systems on your Mac. Q is a feature packed cocoa port of QEMU: Switch fast between guest PCs. Save and restart guest PCs at any stage.
In the latest release notes, I saw that Qemu can now run OS X!
Just launch the 'QEMU - Mac OS 9.2.2.bat' (or 'QEMU - Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11.bat') file and wait 30 seconds for Mac OS to boot up. Nevermind the yellow screen with a VRAM partition not found error, it will go past this without any problem. The Mac OS 9 package contains a 1GB disk image on which Mac OS 9.2.2 is already fully installed. Mac OS 10.4 (PowerPC) in QEMU. Now that Apple has ended supporting PowerPC applications having Mac OS 10.4 around can be a life saver. With it you can continue to use your favorite PowerPC applications. Suggested command-line: qemu-system-ppc -hda -boot c -netdev user,id=mynet0 -device rtl8139,netdev=mynet0.
dmesg
The installer for 10.4 will run, but it’ll then freak out saying that this model of mac is not supported. The ‘working’ cli I’m using is:
Clamav For Mac Os X
ppc-softmmu/qemu-system-ppc -L pc-bios/ -m 256 -M g3beige -hda osx1046.vmdk -cpu G3 -cdrom Mac OS X Install DVD.toast -boot d
Run Mac Os On Qemu
Qemu For Mac Os High Sierra
Sure the colours are off, and it is kind of pokey, but still the more guest OS’s on Qemu, namely for something like the PowerPC. If anyone has any better idea of how to fully run OS X on Qemu drop me a note! Plus there is additional information on the mailing list.
